As a leader of his church, Courage Igene is always looking for new ways to improve mental and spiritual health and really cleanse the mind.
As spring approaches, he has started to think about fresh starts and setting up a spring cleaning for the mind and spirit.
Spring cleaning does not have to be all about cleaning out the garage or the closet and drunk drawer you’ve been neglecting. It’s more about removing anything toxic or unwanted in your life and moving on. Though the physical effort of cleaning can have a lot of mental and spiritual benefits, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Expert Courage Igene now defines spring cleaning as a term for a cleansing of the mind, body and soul. It’s a way to be reborn within yourself. It’s not necessarily done in the spring, though it’s the perfect time considering most of nature is going through the same process.
A lot of troubles and issues plague all of us daily. It’s hard sometimes to get through everything especially when the weather is unpleasant. It seems to add an extra damper on everything. That is why spring is the perfect renewal. It is a chance once a year to begin again. This new found determination and a clean slate, motivates the soul and mind to accomplish or try new things.
Courage Igene has found that something as simple as going outside more often, taking an extra ten minutes to stay off of your phone and admire nature, could have a profound effect on your daily mental health. Calming cleansing experiences that boost your awareness or confidence can help you handle harder tasks when they approach.
If you get enough fresh air, another simple way to improve your quality of life is through a personal project. It’s important that it is something that is not too tedious. I would recommend something you have been dying to do but are a bit afraid to start. Nothing feels better than accomplishing something you thought you couldn’t.
Once you find new and exciting things to do or ways to improve your well-being, you might want to step up and try meditation. Meditation can be done anywhere and incorporates positive thoughts and experiences that you come across during the day. This is the time where you can release all of your burdens to lower stress levels. Though a lot of times spring cleaning does not make it past two or three days, Courage Igene recommends trying to make this process a habit. Having more awareness and a fresher mind will benefit how you feel the rest of the day, through the next week, month, year, and the rest of your life.
